Hello! I launched GeoInvoice in 2013 from my experience in sales tax in the oil and gas industry.   Through that experience I learned that the oil and gas sales tax compliance was very complicated because each state has its own oil and gas tax rules and tax rates.

My first challenge was developing a sales tax calculation for sales at the wellsite.  

Avalara and other automated sales tax software depends on address for calculating sales tax. No address? The second challenge was finding sales tax solutions for the oil and gas industry.

I learned that sales solutions for oil and gas were either too “enterprise” in scope and cost for the small and medium sized service company or did not exist.  In 2019 I developed GEM Oil & Gas Expert Matrix for small and medium sized service companies and suppliers.

I worked for various operators in my career including Citation Oil & Gas Corp as supervisor of state and local tax. I obtained my finance degree magna cum laude  from Sam Houston State University.   I am certified public accountant licensed in the state of Texas.
